Osteopathy

The practice of Osteopathy recognises the essential link between the structure of the body and it’s functions.

Osteopaths look at the body as a holistic unit. They focus on how each system functions together. Many structural problems in the body may affect proper mobility or function and can lead to other problems.

Osteopathy treatment is ideal for:

  • Neck and Back Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Work Related Injuries
  • Join Pain – Knee, Shoulder, Elbow, Hip, Ankle
  • Sports Injuries
  • Pregnancy Related Pain

We also offer treatment for:

  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
  • WorkCover
  • Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plans (EPC)

Please note: These services must be pre approved by your GP before osteopathy treatment can take place.

How is Osteopathy Different?

We’re often asked how osteopathy compares to other forms of manual therapy. While there are shared goals across professions, osteopathy offers a unique, whole-body approach to treatment.

Our sessions are 40 minutes long and fully hands-on. We tailor our treatment techniques to you which may combine soft tissue work, joint mobilisation/manipulation, dry needling, stretching, home exercises and practical advice to address both the cause and symptoms of your issue.

We have a lot of respect for the valuable work of physiotherapists and chiropractors. Each profession plays an important role in helping people move and feel better. It’s also important to note that every practitioner, regardless of their discipline, brings their own style which means treatment approaches can vary widely even within the same field.

In general:

  • Physiotherapy often focuses on exercise-based rehabilitation, particularly after injury or surgery. It’s highly effective for strengthening and restoring movement, especially in a clinical or sports setting.
  • Chiropractic care typically centres on spinal adjustments and the nervous system, aiming to improve alignment and relieve nerve-related discomfort, especially in the back and neck.

Osteopathy stands apart by integrating both structural and functional principles, treating the whole body and not just the site of pain. We aim to improve overall movement, circulation, and balance.

But here’s why many people choose osteopathy with us:

  • 40-minute, hands-on treatments every session
  • A focus on quality over quantity. We won’t book unnecessary follow-ups
  • One-on-one ongoing care with your osteopath
  • A holistic approach that treats the whole body, not just the painful area
  • Care that provides both immediate relief and long-term prevention
  • Personalised, professional service

If you’re looking for treatment that’s personal, practical, and based on how your whole body works together, osteopathy may be the right fit for you.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a targeted, therapeutic treatment that focuses on assessing and addressing musculoskeletal pain, dysfunction, and tension. Unlike relaxation massage, remedial massage aims to treat the underlying causes of discomfort, using evidence-based techniques to support recovery and improve overall function.

This type of massage can help with:

  • Chronic muscle tension and pain

  • Restricted movement and joint stiffness

  • Injury prevention and rehabilitation

  • Headaches, postural imbalances, and repetitive strain

  • Support for physical activity and training recovery

Common techniques used in remedial massage include trigger point therapy, Muscle Energy Technique (MET), and active release therapy. These methods help to release tight muscles, reduce inflammation, and restore balance to affected areas.

Remedial massage is suitable for people of all activity levels—whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing workplace-related tension, or simply seeking to move and feel better in your daily life. Each session is tailored to your individual needs, ensuring effective, results-driven treatment.

Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling: A Reset for your Muscles

If you’ve been dealing with muscle pain that jsut won’t go away–tightness, spasms, or that deep “knot” feeling – Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) might be exactly what your body needs.

Dry needling is a modern, science-backed technique where we use a thin, solid needle (like an acupuncture needle, but with a totally different purpose) to target trigger points – those tight, irritated spots in your muscle that cause pain, stiffness, or referred pain in other parts of your body.

By inserting the needle into the trigger point, we can help the muscle release, reduce local inflammation, improve circulation, and calm down the nerves around the area. There’s no medication involved, just your body’s natural healing doing its thing, with a little help.

Who Benefits from Dry Needling?

  • Athletes dealing with overuse injuries, muscle imbalances, or recovery from training

  • Desk workers with tension headaches, neck pain, or upper back tightness
  • Chronic pain patients including those with fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, or long-term joint/muscle pain
  • Post-surgery patients who need help reactivating muscles or improving range of motion
  • Active individuals recovering from strains, sprains, or muscle fatigue

Whether you’re a weekend warrior, sitting at a desk all day, or managing a long-term condition, dry needling can help reset your muscles and reduce your pain, often with noticeable relief in just a few sessions.

The sensation? It’s quick and often feels like small twitch or cramp,  strange but not unbearable. Although you may experience some discomfort in the area for around 12-24 hours, most people leave feeling looser, lighter and more mobile, with continued improvement over the next 24-48 hours.

Ready to feel the difference?

Dry needling is a powerful tool to help your body move and feel better without medication, without surgery, and with real results. We’ll always walk you through the process and tailor every treatment to your comfort level and specific needs.
